BBC Studios is giving BBC.com subscribers in the United States and Canada early access to a selection of BBC podcasts, letting them hear episodes before the wider release.
From this week, early episodes roll out from shows including Good Bad Billionaire, History’s Secret Heroes, In Our Time, Intrigue, You’re Dead To Me and World of Secrets, with more titles to follow.
The subscription also adds a video edition of In Our Time, one of the BBC’s longest-running audio franchises. Hosted by Misha Glenny with expert guests across history, religion, culture, science and philosophy, the first video episode premieres on Thursday 17 September on BBC.com and BBC Select, the ad-free documentary service in the US and Canada. New video episodes land each Thursday there before reaching the BBC Podcasts YouTube channel outside the UK.
“The addition of early access podcasts is another step in creating a richer, more engaging experience for subscribers,” said Tara Maitra, President, Commercial News at BBC Studios.
A BBC.com annual subscription costs US$49.99 in the United States and CA$69.99 in Canada.
