Acast has appointed Liv Sandberg as EVP, Europe, bringing its Nordic and wider European operations under one regional leader for the first time. She joins from TikTok and starts in early 2027, reporting to CEO Greg Glenday.
Sandberg is currently TikTok’s Regional General Manager for Global Business Solutions across Central Europe and the Nordics — a patch covering 17 markets. She joined the platform almost six years ago to build its Nordic advertising business from scratch. Before TikTok she was Head of Agency at Meta in the Nordics, and before that spent 17 years at Publicis Groupe’s Starcom Nordics, finishing as CEO.
She’s the second senior hire Acast has pulled from big-platform advertising in a fortnight, after a new VP Product arrived from Apple Ad Platforms.
The timing isn’t hard to read. Acast’s European net sales grew 25% year on year in the second quarter, and the company has been building out video — including a recent integration with Apple Podcasts — as podcasters spread across audio, video and social.
“Liv has been at the front of two industry shifts already — social at Facebook, short-form video at TikTok — and she has sat on every side of the equation we are solving at Acast: the platform, the demand side and the agency,” said Glenday.
Sandberg will lead the Nordics directly, succeeding Managing Director Jenny Rahm, who leaves after four years. Sandberg has sat on the board of IAB Sweden since 2019 and was named Role Model of the Year at the 2024 Nordic Women in Tech Awards.
