Audacy signs Smosh in multi-year podcast and video deal

Audacy has struck a multi-year partnership with sketch comedy brand Smosh, becoming the exclusive sales and distribution partner for its podcast slate from 1 October.

The deal covers all of Smosh’s podcasts — Smosh Mouth, Smosh Reads Reddit Stories, Assumptions and URL — with more opportunities across its podcast and video output expected to follow. It expands Audacy’s push into video and creator-led content.

Founded in 2005 by Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox as one of YouTube’s earliest breakout sketch channels, Smosh now counts more than 75 million social followers and 20 billion YouTube views across a 20-year run.

“Smosh didn’t just break out as a brand on YouTube — they helped write the playbook for what creator-led entertainment could become,” said Leah Reis-Dennis, Head of Podcasts at Audacy. Smosh CEO Alessandra Catanese said Audacy “brings unmatched advertising and distribution” as the company invests further in its podcast business.

The Smosh podcast slate is on YouTube and wherever podcasts are available.
