A community-picked list of the best European podcasts of 2026 will be published on 30 September to mark International Podcast Day, put together by European podcast newsletter Eurowaves.
Rather than a jury or a chart, the list is built from nominations by podcasters themselves. Anyone working in audio could put forward a show — including their own — as long as it was European-made, with the UK counted in. New podcasts launched since January qualified, and so did new series released this year on an existing feed. Shows in any language were accepted, with reviews written in English.
Nominations closed on 11 September, so the picks are now locked in ahead of the reveal.
The project is organised by Andreea Coscai, who writes Eurowaves, a newsletter covering the European podcast industry. The finished list will appear at eurowaves.eu on the day.
International Podcast Day falls on 30 September each year.
